Teacher-Parent Communication Log
I hope you find this Teacher-Parent Communication Log helpful for your next school year. For the best results, have parents fill out page 8 (or 9 if you are wanting the version without pictures). Use this as a guide for getting to know your students a little better and for gaining and understanding on what your students parents expect of you this school year.
Get a binder, mine is bright pink so it easy to find, and place numbered dividers for each student. I use the correlating number the student has for all other classroom items. Place each students “Getting to Know Your Child” form and a few copies of the Parent Contact Log behind each child’s divider.
As the school year progresses, place any notes or communication between yourself and the parents in the binder behind the correlating student. Each time you need to call the parent, I do both good phone calls and bad calls, record them on the Parent Contact Log. This will, pardon the term I use, help “cover your butt” with documentation. If a document must be returned to the parent or school administration, make a copy.
