We all need to keep accurate records of when we communicate with parents. I have made this easier with my 2-page communication record. The first page keeps track of contact regarding a single student, with room for six different instances of parent contact. The page has easy check boxes to note the type of contact and whether it was parent initiated.
I created the second page to keep track of group e-mails. I get as many parent e-mail addresses as I can at the beginning of the year and I create groups for each of my classes. Once every week or two I like to send out brief explanations of what we do in class and how many students are keeping up with their work. Parents love this! I use this form to keep track of those group e-mails in case I need to look at one again. It also allows me to show often I contact parents in this way.
