This is the parent letter that goes with the Internet Safety Lesson in my store at this address: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Internet-Personal-Safety-Rules-Lesson-w-5-video-links-PBIS-Character-Ed-2464687
THIS IS NOT A LESSON PLAN. It is a supplement to go with the lesson at the link above.
Parent communication is vital to the success of a school counseling program. Whenever I teach a lesson, I send home a letter that gives the parents information so that they have the vocabulary and the information taught so that it can be reinforced at home. This letter also includes an internet safety pledge that the students can share with their parents.
This is a Word document and is fully editable for you to personalize to fit your needs.

In this lesson, you will be covering the concepts of:
• Stranger Danger

The lesson includes a link to five different videos to reinforce the concept of staying safe from when online. The videos range from three to seven minutes in length. By using all of the videos, the lesson provides very comprehensive instruction on personal safety from online sources.
This presentation has 19 slides and includes notes and discussion tips to use to evaluate students’ understanding.
I would schedule a minimum of 30-45 minutes for this lesson and, depending on your delivery pace and the amount of discussion that you have.
The PowerPoint is customizable and has a master slide that can be copied to make your own slides to personalize the lesson for your students and teaching style. The presentation includes both animations and transitions to hold your students' interest. Make your lesson come alive for your students and help them to connect to the concept in a fun way that will help them to remember the important lessons you need for them to remember.
