Here's something to add to your Parent Read-Aloud Program. Get your students and their parents to focus on the wonderful vocabulary that is presented in children's literature--both fiction and nonfiction. Copy this Parent Read-Aloud Vocabulary Builder, fold it in half, and then slip it into your students' library or classroom books that students take home. As parents read these books to their children, they'll look for those good vocabulary words and record them on the guides. When students return the guides, their new words can be added to your library or classroom word walls and be shared with other students. It's a great way to increase students' vocabulary!
