This download includes pages you can use both while you prepare for Parent-Teacher Conferences, and during the conference itself!
The download includes two separate conference checklists. The first checklist can be used for the first set of conferences (Fall) and the second checklist can be used for the Spring conferences. Complete one for each student, using a highlighter to mark the strengths each student displays on the left, and the areas of concern you have on the right. It’s an easy way to make sure you cover every skill for each student. I also like to include work samples from the students to support the strengths and areas of concern marked. I left the reading area blank intentionally to allow you to write your own notes about your student’s reading strengths and areas of concern. I did this due to students having vastly differing needs when it comes to reading (I didn’t stick to standards for these). The backside of the lists gives an area for you to list your ideas for at-home skill practice to share with parents. Copies of these checklists can be made once complete, one for your file, and one for parents to take home with them after the conference!
I have had great success using these at conferences, and look forward to helping other teachers get organized around this busy time of year!
