This packet goes with the California Treasures sight words for First Grade.
In order to get 12 words on a mat I had to combine several weeks to one page. On some mats I had to repeat a week. Each page is intended to be an individual game board. I hope that this works for most people.
Directions and Variations
1. Draw a card. Read the word. If you know the word, find it in the parking lot and park your car. If you don’t know the word your partner can help you and “steal” your parking spot. If there is already a car parked in that spot you get to have it towed away and take its place. If you draw a FREE Parking card park your car in the FREE Parking spot. Once the parking lot is full remove all the cars and begin again.
2. With a partner, take turns reading your high frequency words. Each time you read a word correctly, park a car on that word. When the parking lot is full drive your cars away and play again. Once all parking spots are filled take a FREE Parking spot.
