Product Description
This Unit teaches Parody. It is aimed at middle school age, but could be used in upper elementary and high school with modifications.

The topic of parody is brought to life with song, poetry, and story. The final product is a student written parody or fractured fairy tale of their own. The unit engages student's interest and creativity.

This comes with two lessons. The first uses a song and a poem to introduce parody. The second lesson uses a picture book parody of a fairy tale to use as a writing model for students. It can also be used with fairy tale units, fiction or story units, and writer's workshops.
