Product Description
I looked for resources to guide my students to a conceptual understanding of part-part-whole but could only find mats and practice sheets. I needed something more and perhaps you do too!

This is a clean, streamlined, and simple 168 page document that guides students through the understanding of part-part-whole (essentially, composing and decomposing numbers). It provides many different ways to practice the concepts, including hands-on games, movement activities, simple “print and go” games, a craftivity, and graphing. Students begin by learning which parts make up a whole and finish this unit with an understanding of addition and subtraction through number families. The theme is dice; who doesn't have a bunch of dice lying around? Manipulating dice to this extent aids in subitizing as well. Main materials required are dice and this unit! All activities include step-by-step guides. This product uses all black and white student pages to minimize printing in color. Not all games are “print and go,” some require some stapling or laminating. All games are created with the Multiple Intelligences in mind.

Here is what you get:

I used this with my Grade Two Intervention Math Group. It will be useful to any teacher wanting to introduce the part-part-whole concept to a group of students. I am going to suggest PreK- 2. Check out the preview for more information. I hope this is helpful to you! Kindly leave feedback after using it and let me know how it went for you and your students.
