Part Part Whole Scoot & Task Cards
Get your students up and moving to practice finding the whole number when combining the two given parts of a number. This is a strategy that helps students understand how bigger numbers are made up of smaller numbers.
First copy the task cards, cut apart and then place around the room ( I like to put them in a random number order for more of a challenge). Then give each student or pair of students a blank recording sheet to write their answers on. Students will “scoot” around the room writing down their answers as they visit each task card. Correct together and review the answers.
