If students don't know the 8 parts of speech, how can they be expected to write anything? This lesson is Day 3 of my "Parts of Speech Boot Camp," and focuses on pronouns, using the poem "The Crocodile and the Dentist" by Roald Dahl.
This intensive program is for upper elementary/middle school students as a means of review (and minor reteaching). It includes differentiation techniques for learners of all levels.
Using Whole Brain Teaching methodology, this is a fully immersive lesson that relies on students being active and teaching each other, with the instructor only using one-minute chunks of talking. It incorporates multiple areas of the brain, which helps with student retention. Built-in assessments allow the students to avoid feeling pressured or embarrassed, and, most importantly, is FUN!
Other POS Boot Camp lessons will be posted throughout the summer.
