As Language Arts teachers, we were looking for a way to track and grade participation, and this is what we came up with. We've been using it in our classes for several years, and it has helped us hold our students accountable for appropriate participation.
We use a quick and easy point system. Is it foolproof? Yes! Okay, not really, but it is a way to track behaviors individually and see who is repeatedly having problems, so groups can be adjusted or interventions can be used.
The idea is that students start with five points a day. When a student is not participating in the appropriate manner, they lose a point. At the end of the week, we calculate the percentage and that is a portion of our students’ grade.
You can customize it to use in any way that you feel motivates your students.
This is an editable tracker, so you can download and have it ready to go in no time at all!
We have also included a short description of how we use it in our classrooms. If interested, make sure you see the PDF file.
We hope you find this classroom management form useful for grading cooperative or partner activities.
Please take a moment to rate your purchase. We would really appreciate it!
