Partitioning Rectangles and Arrays Smartboard Presentation based on Common Core State Standard 2.G.2
CCSS: Standard: 2.G.2 Partition a rectangle into rows and columns of same size squares and count to find the total number of them.
-The Smartboard Lesson starts with the WALT: We are learning to use squares to partition a rectangle into rows and columns.
-Discusses vocabulary words: rectangle, partition, arrays, rows, columns, equal parts, repeated addition.
-Has students partition rectangles using tiles and then name how many rows, columns, and how many tiles in all.
-By the end of the smartboard, students will be creating two repeated addition equations from arrays.
-I used this lesson in my classroom for four days of lessons, which is shown on the presentation!
