To practice finding the point on a directed line segment between two given points that partitions the segment in a given ratio.
Pair students together. Partner A does the first set of 12 questions while Partner B does the second set of 12 questions. They record their answer in the box. After each question, they compare answers. If their answers match, they move on. If not, they trade papers and review their partner’s work to help identify any mistakes.
This is a great activity for cooperative learning. Administrators love this activity – it encourages students to work together, but they can’t directly copy their partner’s work. It is great for you, as a teacher, because it has a “self-checking” element.
I also included a non-partner version where students compete all problems independently.
