How do you decide on the spot who is going to be partners with who?
Just make these cards and keep them handy!
These cards are here to make your life easier! This is a quick and fun way to create groups. I have included several different sets of cards, so you can pick the one that fits your needs.
The first set of cards is for groups of 2. It is pretty simple. Just pass out all of the cards, and then they have to find the person who has the same card. That is their partner.
The second two sets of cards are for math class. They either have a problem or an answer. If they have a problem, they have to solve it. If they have the answer, they have to find the person with the problem that would equal their answer. I included easy and hard problems, so you can differentiate those levels when you pass them out. There’s an answer key for you, also.
Finally, for those times when you need groups of 4, I included themed sets. There is also a page that lists the themes. There are 8 themes. I put the list up on the overhead so the kids have a better idea of what they are looking for. Each set has a hint if they need help figuring out the theme. For example, the ice group has a piece of ice on each card.
I included enough cards for a class of 30. You can modify it as needed. I always have an odd number of kids, so when I have one left over- I just let them pick a group. I also included a page of blanks so you can use those as needed.
