This activity is for partners at Math time, or in a Math Center. Each child rolls dice (one or 2), writes the number shown in the box, then writes the numbers that come before and after that number in the lines provided. Partners take turns, while discussing numbers, looking at a number line or counting chart. A follow-up lesson can be a review of "greater than" and "less than", and this will provide a good visual once completed. If you prefer, give each partner their own copy and take turns rolling, but both students write in answers as they work collaboratively.
