Partner Pickers & Partner Pals, St. Patrick’s Day Edition: A Grouping System for Partners & Groups of 4 By Counseling From the Heart is a fun and exciting way to randomly group students in partners and groups of 4. Each student gets a card with a four piece puzzle on it. The teacher spins the spinner for a color and the student finds another student who has the matching card for that color to form a partnership. For groups of 4, the partnership finds another pair with a similar picture in the same color zone. I originally created this system to use with many of the Kagan Cooperative Learning Strategies I use. Partner Pickers & Partner Pals can be used for elementary, intermediate, middle school, high school, and adult students. This product can be used across content areas as well as for clubs, games, sports activities, cooperative learning, collaborative projects, and basically anything that requires partnerships and groups of 4. This colorful and fun grouping system can be used repeatedly to create multiple combinations of kids. I use it to teach social skills, manners, and communication skills between different students. Having four different sections keeps students from switching and trying to remain in their comfort zones with their best friends. Partner Pickers & Partner Pals has the added benefit of providing brain breaks while it gets kids up and moving! I will be creating more Partner Pickers with different themes to mix and match for more partner picking fun!
