This activity consists of 12 problems for each student to solve. Students will move a power with a negative exponent to the opposite part of the fraction (i.e. numerator to denominator) to change the exponent to a positive. Then they will simplify the fraction.
In my experience students catch on quickly using this partner format.
This activity can be used for practice, as a review, as a math center, as a partner assessment, or as an assignment choice for differentiating lessons. An answer key is included.
