This is an activity where two students work independently to graph linear equations, then collaborate to check their answers. In this practice sheet, Partner A and Partner B both graph two different equations onto each coordinate plane. If they are correct, their lines will intersect at the same point. I found this to be a great asset to my linear equations unit, especially since partners didn't know right away who had made the mistake (or if both did) when they checked each other for answers. This is a great activity to teach students how to monitor their own work with the help of a peer, instead of running to the teacher when they hit a dead end or make a mistake. :)
I have found that this type of activity really helpful after we spend a day or two graphing more simple equations on a coordinate plane. This is also a great worksheet to introduce the idea of changing the slope to an equivalent fraction to better suit the given scale on the coordinate plane.
