Great way to manage and limit partner practice. This is a quick way to set up partners for any kind of practice. You can arrange high ability with lower ability or keep behaviors from choosing each other! 8 decorative cover pages to choose from plus a blank one so you can save ink or decorate yourself. Choose a cover page for your class size. You can choose from 16, 18, 20, 24, and 32 students. You will also need an inside shape – either the wedge or circular border. Decide how you want to organize your students. Put them into two groups. Write the names of one group on the outside shape and the other group on the inside shape. Cut out the inside shape along the outside edge. Set it on top of the cover page. Rotate to match up the students you want to work together.
Teacher Tip: I make two to use for my class. I make one with all my students and one without my GATE students. That way when my GATE students are gone, I can quickly set up partners. If someone is absent, I make a group of three. I display this using a document camera so it is easy for everyone to see. You could also make several different sets for different subjects, like reading, math, and spelling.
