This is a checklist students can use when they pair up to partner read a story. Each student receives a checklist (after the teacher has explained its use). They take turns reading, listening to each other's reading and providing feedback according to the checklist. Using the checklist helps students keep focused on providing specific feedback, and promotes cooperation and peer-assisted learning. Students will be listening for their partner doing the following: remembering more words, reading faster, reading smoother, and reading with expression after a first and second read (The idea is for all check boxes to be checked by the end of the second reading, thus, showing that repeated reads also effectively improve reading fluency). *Two identical checklists are included in this document.
