I LOVE using partner revising and editing in my classroom! It takes a LOT of modeling and practice, but soon my kiddos are experts at being awesome partners and helping their classmates with their writing :)
*This is meant for use with informational reports, but I'll be adding other checklists for other styles of writing soon!*
This page is a great way to help students practice working with a partner during writing time. There are some reminders on the top to give kind suggestions and to always be looking at the speaker when they are reading. It also provides some sentence starters to help give students a starting place when giving suggestions or asking questions. At the bottom is a checklist for the partner to use when reading their classmate's work. I usually tell my kiddos that if they can't check something off, then they should help their partner add or fix it!
Once they've revised and edited with a buddy, they would switch places and use the checklist on their partner's work :)
**Obviously, I still meet and conference with each student as well! ;) This is just a way to get them talking and working through their writing beforehand to catch any silly mistakes*
Enjoy! Please leave feedback if you have any questions or suggestions!
