This little freebie is for my kinders to better understand that numbers can be made in several different ways. We have been working on the numbers 0-5 so far this year, and this activity allows them to work in partners using 5 double-sided counters to spill out and form a number sentence (4+1=5) and then search for that number sentence on the game board's grid. Once they find it, they can color it in with a designated color. Then it is their partner's turn and the process repeats. When all of the squares on the grid are filled up, the students count up the squares they colored in with their designated color and compare their totals. After we teach them how to play, this game will be available for them to use during Math with Someone Else time.
I would love to hear how you use this activity in your classroom, so please make sure to rate and leave feedback!
