Included in this package is a set of guided notes and answer key for the beginning of a Circles unit in Geometry. Lessons include parts of circles (identifying and naming), tangent-radius theorem, two-tangent theorem, radius-chord theorem, and angle-arc relationships (including central, inscribed, tangent-chord, chord-chord, secant-secant, secant-tangent, tangent-tangent). Included in each lesson are "You Try!" questions to be used for formative assessment. I typically go around the room and put a stamp or sticker on each student's paper when they correctly answer the question. At the end of the packet is learning target checklist where students can rate themselves each day on their progress toward mastery of the objectives.
The package includes a PDF and editable .docx version of the note packet as well as a complete answer key. Feel free to make your own edits to appropriately align to your curriculum and teaching style for use in the classroom. Disclaimer: Formatting can sometimes change upon opening the Word document on a new computer. I recommend you scan over the document before printing. Equations require MathType 6 to edit. Some equation items including the arc symbol require the latest version of MathType. If you do not have MathType it is recommended you print from the PDF.
