Product Description
This product contains guided notes, a cut and paste activity, and a worksheet on understanding the different parts of an exponential function. The first part of the guided notes requires students to write a function rule and NOW-NEXT rule for different situations. The second part of notes gives students the exponential function and asks them to name the starting value and whether it is increasing or decreasing and by what rate per quantity of time. The third section contains three practice multiple choice questions. Lastly, part 4 asks students to complete some problems on their own. The worksheet contains 8 problems very similar to the guided notes.
In the cut and paste activity, students are given 10 exponential situations and they have to find the function rule (in y= format) and the now-next rule from their list of answer choices. After they find the two rules, they cut them out and glue them down on their answer sheet. In addition to the 10 word problems, there are 4 more problems in which students are given the function rule (in y= format) and asked to find a possible scenario to fit that function rule.
