This test is a great resource to use as a baseline or post assessment to test your students' understanding of the different parts of a sentence. This file includes two different test versions. Use the fill-in-the-blank version for your more advanced students, or the multiple choice version for your regular or modified classes. Students are asked to identify subjects, verbs, verb types (action or linking). They are also tested on their understanding of direct objects, indirect objects, predicate adjectives, and predicate nominatives. Finally, the tests also include a section on sentence types. Students are asked to identify if a sentence is a fragment or a complete sentence, and if the sentence is a complete sentence, they must identify the type of sentence: declarative, imperative, interrogative, or exclamatory.
Each test (fill-in-the-blank and multiple choice) has 45 questions.
Answer keys are provided for both test types.
