This is a great three-part diagnostic test on all eight parts of speech.
Section I asks students to read a passage with marked words. They have to write the part of speech for each marked word on the lines next to the passage (18).
Section II asks students to write the word or words in a sentence that match the part of speech listed next to it (5).
Section III asks students to identify how the same word is used as two different parts of speech in one sentence (6).
Total of 29 questions. Students write directly on test. I have included an answer key.
This is a great primer for instruction, especially at the beginning of the year.
Suitable for grades 7-12.
