This parts of speech file folder game solidifies students' knowledge of nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, and prepositions and can serve as a reminder throughout the year. :) Students read sentences and identify the part of speech of the underlined word, using a dice to advance forward. If students land on a black star, they can challenge a friend who is ahead of them on the game board. If they answer correctly, they get to jump to their friend's space, but if they get it wrong, they stay where they are. The first student to reach the end wins!
File folder games take up less space and are quick and easy to pull out. They work great for centers, as students can set up, read directions, and play independently all while getting a great review. This game includes two game board pieces to be glued to the inside of a file folder, 27 sentence cards (laminate and cut out for durability), directions, and an answer key. A dice and place markers for each student is needed - I recommend cap erasers for place markers. :)
