Description
Review vivid verbs, opening adjectives, delayed adjectives, opening adverbs, and delayed adverbs in this fun and interactive review game that you can do either in person or virtually! Give students the opportunity to up level their writing skills by combining vivid verbs and purposefully placed adjectives and adverbs in their sentences.
Students will see how great writers combine verbs, adjectives, and adverbs to create meaningful sentences by looking at Mentor Sentences. After this practice, students will write their own short paragraphs using the skills together (engaging writing prompts provided on the handout!). Last, you'll guide students in a NO PREP, fun, engaging interactive game that allows them to further review these skills.
Use this lesson:
- When reviewing basic grammar concepts before state, county, or national tests that will test their writing skills or grammar knowledge
- Before a lengthy writing assignment when you want to remind students of key writing techniques
- When you need a no-prep lesson, but still want to create a meaningful experience for your students
What You Get:
