Product Description
Teaching grammar while reading Catching Fire will show students how grammar is a natural part of reading. This is a FREEBIE for you to see how your students enjoy learning grammar through mentor sentences.

I have taken sentences from Chapter 1 of Catching Fire (novel by Suzanne Collins) and highlighted words to identify. Students must identify each highlighted word as a noun, pronoun, adjective, adverb, verb, preposition, or conjunction - infinitive, gerund, or participle. (Interjection is not covered).

Aside from great review, this activity also enforces the concept that grammar is part of what we read.

This item is free. If it works well with your students, check out my other mentor sentences activities that incorporate The Hunger Games and Catching Fire.

Mentor Sentences from Catching Fire has over 200 pages of grammar practice and instruction.
