Product Description
Are your students struggling with their writing, but you struggle teaching language effectively without getting bored to tears?

Well, I may not be able to help you with the “bored to tears” part; however I can offer you a bundle of products that helped 72.9% of my scholars meet their Student Learning Objective in 2013-14.

Unfortunately, our scholars often are lacking in the foundation of language—knowing the parts of speech of words. If the scholar were lacking in the basics of mathematics (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing), it’s safe to assume they’ll struggle in Integrated Algebra.

Language acquisition and mastery is dependent upon the scholars’ parts of speech mastery. Parts of speech mastery is prerequisite to understanding sentence structure, which builds on paragraph structure, essay structure, etc.

Student Learning Objectives, or SLO’s, is my school districts foray into the high-stakes game of data-driven instruction.
During the 2013-14 school year, I had to use my largest class for my annual SLO, which was 80% of the scholars in that class pass the final exam with 60% accuracy or higher. However, 12 of 27 scholars had IEP’s that stated they were reading and writing below 4th Grade reading level, and six scholars who never showed up to the class all school year were my biggest challenges.

Due, in part to the instruction of the PowerPoint presentations in this bundle, 72.9% of the scholars in this class passed with 60% accuracy or higher. Better yet, 10 of the 12 IEP scholars met the objective (the two who didn’t meet it didn’t take it).

Furthermore, these notes are aligned with several Common Core State Standards’ Progressive Learning skills in Language. Some of the Common Core standards in this bundle start in the Third Grade.

Therefore, it’s incumbent for us, as educators of English Language Arts, to help our scholars master these basic language skills.
These power point presentations start with the backbone of effective writing—Parts of Speech--that covers the following 8 PowerPoint presentations which can be purchased separately by clicking the hyperlink:
 Nouns
 Pronouns
 Verbs
 Adjectives
 Adverbs
 Conjunctions
 Prepositions
 Interjections

These products are in alignment with the following Common Core State Standards:

 CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.5.1.e
Use correlative conjunctions (e.g., either/or, neither/nor).
 L.6.1c. Recognize and correct inappropriate shifts in pronoun number and person.
 L.6.1d. Recognize and correct vague pronouns (i.e., ones with unclear or ambiguous antecedents).
 CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.7.2.a
Use a comma to separate coordinate adjectives (e.g., It was a fascinating, enjoyable movie but not He wore an old[,] green shirt).
 CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.8.1.c
Form and use verbs in the indicative, imperative, interrogative, conditional, and subjunctive mood.

For the incredible value of $19.99, you too can help build your students' writing skills. That’s a $14.86 saving on these products if purchased individually.

And as a bonus, I will include three mini lesson products from my store:
 How Nouns Function Mini Lesson (a $10.99 value)
 Pronouns Mini Lesson (an $8.00 value)
