This power point was used in conjunction with the grammar instructional materials we used (Daily Grammar Practice- DGP- booklet) to introduce each part of speech and the code labels for how we would label each word in a sentence throughout the year. I cannot say enough AMAZING things about DGP! Yes, it takes some time to get used to it, but it changes the way the students understand grammar and each part of speech! My inclusion classrooms struggled at the beginning of the year when we started, but grew so much and became such better writers because of it. My favorite question to ask while doing DGPs is, "Why?" and at the end of the year, my once struggling learners had become confident instructors!
Even if you don't use the Daily Grammar Practice booklets as instructional materials, the powerpoint is still a great review tool that can be used from middle school through high school. Flip charts or books would be something that could be made with the power point and then assessed on if desired.
