This activity is designed for students to use different parts of speech to create very short stories. They will create four short stories about the same topic; however, each short story uses only one part of speech (all nouns, all verbs, all adjectives or all adverbs). They are, then, asked to reflect on their experience writing these short stories and asked about how it work work using three other parts of speech-- pronouns, prepositions, and conjunctions. When they complete the stories they are encouraged to share them with a partner!

This activity could be used in many forms. It could be a good activity for a Sub day. It could be a culminating activity for a parts of speech unit. It could be a great review for students who should have working knowledge of parts of speech already!
