This writing assignment was designed for students who struggle with understanding the major parts of speech (noun, adjective, verb). Students are prompted to write a story based on characters and settings that actual students created to help them remember the meaning of the different parts of speech (ex. Verby, The Adjective Show, and Noun Town). Students are also encouraged to create their own characters and settings, but are also allowed to use those already created to write their story. A plan is included to help students organize their thoughts before beginning the writing process.
