This is a presentation that outlines the basic Parts of Speech and rules for Subject-Verb agreement, as well as going into greater depth on some of the most common mistakes and/or tricky rules. The lecture involves room for student participation, as there are slides that ask students to correct the grammatical mistakes present in the sentences, based off of the rules presented. This lecture would precede in-class worksheets, activities, and quizzes to further solidify students' skills in these areas. Appropriate for any level, though some modification may be necessary for the lower grades. This presentation is meant to provide the first overview for grammar, and the major concepts of Subject-Verb agreement and Parts of Speech (supplemented by Grammar Rock).
Meant to be taught over the course of a few class periods, but is fluid enough to fit any schedule.
