Have you taught your students all of the parts of a book? Are you wondering if they understand it now? Then this parts of a literacy book game center is the activity for you!
Students match the fifteen descriptions, written in somewhat of a riddle form, with the appropriate book term.
You will need to cut the cards apart for the students to take part in the matching activity. I also highly recommend printing them on cardstock and/or laminating the cards so they can be used from year to year. I store them in plastic baggies for that very reason!
The parts of a book to be matched include: title, author, illustrator, table of contents, glossary, index, text, spine, title page, publisher, preface, appendix, bibliography, copyright date, and place of publication.
There are two sets of these cards. The first set is simply black and white to save you ink. The second set has cute graphics to add some pizzazz to your day!
**Keep an original copy around to use as an answer key!**
Download the free preview file to see how the cards are set up. You will see five of the fifteen cards that way.
Thanks for looking!
