This put together book helps students understand the purpose of the various text features found in primary non-fiction books. After printing out the pages, cut them apart and have students place them in the appropriate order and on the correct pages. If a student can do this, he/she will have mastered the following concepts:
• Title Page
• Table of Contents
• Bold-faced Words
These can be used in a reading center, as a game for group work or as an assignment. I copied the pages onto cardstock and put the pieces into a manila envelope and used it as center work.
