This is a QR Sort based activity that focuses on the 7 major parts of a cell and levels of organization in an organism. On the top is the vocabulary word, and below the QR code is the definition. When you scan the code, students may find more information about the word.
To use, simply print and cut down the middle for a sort. Then group students in 2-4 and have students sort out all of the cards. Once students have sorted the codes and have scanned them, they will have answers to the included questionnaire over the different words. Some of the answers are based when they correctly match the word and definition, and other questions focus on what the QR code says once it scans. An answer key is included.
There are a total or 14 different QR codes that can be used to organize to check for vocabulary. Included vocabulary words are: organelle, DNA, cytoplasm, cell wall, cell membrane, mitochondria, chloroplast, vacuole, nucleus, cell, tissue, organ, organ system, and organism.
This makes for a great way to assess comprehension after a lesson or use them independently in science centers.
