We create interactive science notebooks every year and they are definitely a work in progress! These are an early entry into our science notebooks every year! First, students label the parts of a microscope. I enlarge it on the poster maker and then we have one hanging in the room as well! I love having the kids make their own microscope slides. We keep a collection of them in plastic containers in the classroom. Students can look at any of them when we are working with our microscopes. We have these microscopes. http://www.amazon.com/American-Educational-Prism-Microscope-Students/dp/B006582O14
Students make three slides and then look at each one using the microscope. The slide pictures and the microscopic view pictures both go into the science notebooks (they can arrange them as they wish). *You can also glue the envelope (or use a real one) into the notebook and place the slides into it!
Our science notebooks are composition books, so I reduce each page to 80% when I copy them.
I will be posting more of these interactive science notebook packs as I make them, topic by topic.
