This is a fun lesson that will teach students about the different parts of a plant (seeds, roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits) and their function. Students will be able to explore many different parts of plants and examine edible parts of plants we eat. You may choose to include examples of each part of a plant at each of the six stations for students to explore along with the task cards. Students will first fill out an anticipation guide on parts of a plant, engage in the centers, fill out a graphic organizer, and then assess their predictions on the anticipation guide.
At each center I included these edible plant parts...
Seeds: Tomato, Pumpkin, and Cucumber seeds
Roots: Carrots and Radishes
Stems: Asparagus and Celery
Leaves: Cabbages and Lettuce
Flowers: Broccoli and Cauliflower
Fruits: Pumpkins and Tomatoes
