Product Description

Allow your students to demonstrate their knowledge of unit pricing and currency exchange through this fully prepared unit project. Use it in place of an exam or in addition to an exam.

Students will work together to plan a birthday party. Working within certain parameters, through scaffolded project work, students will plan and budget for an imaginary birthday party. Researching real-world costs and making budget decisions helps students solidify knowledge of unit price and currency exchange while demonstrating an understanding of outcomes.

This print and go project includes a project information sheet, three student worksheets, a self-assessment, a ready to use rubric, and a teacher information sheet with suggestions for pacing. The project takes approximately 5-6 hours of class time to complete, including student presentations.
