Do you sometimes wish you could get your entire class motivated to write creatively? Are there days that it seems like your students' ability to come up with creative and unique ideas for writing was left at home? Yes, we all have those "writer's block" days!
In this Zip file you'll find a solution! Included is a Power Point presentation and a small group handout / writing sheet. You will need to let your students work in 3 separate groups. On the Power Point, there are three very different, but super-interesting prompts from to choose. You will find specific, easy to follow instructions on the second slide.
In order to keep the 3 separate groups to no more than 4-5 students, I first split my class in half and then separate each half into 3 separate groups. You'd end up with 2 different "Pass It On" stories. I've found that with most groups of students it becomes a friendly competition as to which half of the class can write the most creative story.
They'll have so much fun coming up with and sharing great ideas to write about with their chosen prompt. The best part is listening to their stories at the end!
