My students LOVE listening to music and they love DRAMA. I've taken three of their all-time favorite songs: Il avait les Mots by Sheryfa Luna, Ma Soeur by Vitaa, and A Fleur de Toi, by Vitaa, and connected them with a dramatic love story written in the past tense. There are three files in this compressed folder. Each file revolves around a song. For each song, I have written an original story that continues through the three songs. In the story, I have highlighted key vocabulary and put it in a wordbox to help with reading comprehension. For each of the three stories, I ask students to complete an activity to practice past tense--highlight passé composé and imparfait, conjugate verbs in the passé composé and imparfait, and ID whether the highlighted verbs identify actions that happened once or twice or descriptions. After each story, there are comprehension questions in English. Finally, students will read the song lyrics and complete a reading comprehension activity: answer true false questions about the song, define vocabulary, and match text with a picture.
You can include the music videos in class or ask students to watch them at home.
