A fun and easy change-of-pace activity! This is a set of 3 different jigsaw puzzles to practice the passé composé tense. These puzzles are a great hands-on way for students to practice and familiarize themselves with the passé composé with "avoir." Two puzzles are in editable Microsoft Word documents and one is a PDF file. Each puzzle is in a different format to focus on different approaches to the past tense. Simply print the puzzles, cut out the pieces, and they're ready to go!
1) match French past tense sentences with English translations
2) match French present tense sentences with French past tense equivalents
3) match French parts of speech (subject, auxiliary verb, past participle) in order to form 6 horizontal past tense sentences.
Note: The puzzle pieces of both puzzles in Word have the same shape and the same French passé composé sentences. However, the "matching pieces" have different sentences. One is English past tense, and the other is French present tense. Most students that complete both puzzles will not even notice that the pieces are the same shape.
