Product Description
This worksheet explains the differences between active and passive resistance among slaves on the plantations of the Americas.

The students have to identify the two forms and sift and sort examples to show they understand. Then they have to read four sources and infer whether they indicate passive or active resistance.
Finally they have to answer two questions, one of which is 'which do you think would have been most common at the time (active or passive resistance) and explain why.

This lesson was designed for use in the English education system for Year 8s (12 years old) but I think it is accessible to 10-13 year olds.

I hope you find this useful.

Thanks for looking.
