This zip file coincides with the NYC DOE Passport to Social Studies Grade 4 Unit 3 lessons. Lessons 1-12 are included, as well as the performance based assessment and the additional tasks. The zip file includes the link to the Google Slides and a PowerPoint file. There are 261 slides in the slideshow (a lot of work!). The Google Slides are not editable and cannot be downloaded or shared. You do not need a Google account to access the slides. The PowerPoint file may be edited for your own classroom purposes, but cannot be shared. You may also upload the PowerPoint into your Google Drive and modify from there or post to Google Classroom for your students to access. I recommend using the file with Google Slides as that is where the original was created. Please purchase multiple licenses for multiple classrooms.
If you have any questions about the resources or about any additional resources that you may want, please feel free to contact me directly. If this is something that is in demand, I will continue working on the rest of the units. Please note that this unit is extensive and covers Colonial and Revolutionary Periods of New York. I spent a lot of time working on creating these slides, but we all make mistakes and if you notice one don't hesitate to let me know!
Disclaimer: I did not write this unit at all, but worked on creating lessons in the format of slides that can be accessible in the classroom. Most of the images, worksheets and excerpts that are mentioned in this unit are not included in this file but can be accessed online through WeTeachNYC. This unit of study, developed with and for classroom teachers, is a publication of the Office of Curriculum, Instruction & Professional Learning, under the leadership of Anna Commitante. Members of the Social Studies Department and other staff worked with teachers to design the activities and lesson plans provided within. They offer a sequence of instruction that can be adapted and customized to meet your students’ individual needs.
