PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Password is an excellent way for students to practice circumlocution. In this game, they may not use any gestures or English.

Divide the class into two teams and pick one team to go first. That team sends a student to the "hot seat" with his back to the projector screen. Put 1:30 on a stopwatch and the team members have to EXPLAIN the word using circumlocution. I have used this game with my French 2 and they learn to get by with their limited vocabulary.

This particular game has vocabulary for things you did as a child (cuddled your teddy bear, played with trucks, sucked your thumb), adjectives to describe you (temperamental, happy, angelic) and toys (teddy bear, blocks, sand box).

I use this as part of an IMPARFAIT unit based on describing yourself as a child.

ALSO AVAILABLE: Talking about your childhood in French: 10 graphic organizers, Childhood Activities Power Point and Notes Page, Describing Yourself as a Child Power Point and Notes Page.
