Game Description:

This game features a game board with thirty-six barnyard animals that players click on to go to a multiple-choice question. The board has eight scoreboards to keep track of animal treats won. This means that the game can be played with up to eight individual players or eight teams. The game includes an introductory slide with the topic, a “Click to Spin for Treats” or correct answer slide, a “It’s not Feeding Time” or incorrect answer slide, a “Take your Treats” or correct answer reward slide, and a “Barn Dance” slide for a total of forty-four slides. All of the slides have sounds triggered by a button or transition to the slide. Every game slide also has buttons to go back to the game board or the instructions.

How to Play:

If you play with teams, choose them randomly by whatever method you wish. Each team must select a team captain that will choose the animals to click on, answer questions, spin the reward spinner, and get the rewards. With each turn the captain can be rotated to keep all players involved. You can also play with up to eight singles. Just do whatever suits your class’s needs best. Players must also choose a player/team number on the scoreboard to represent them.

The board has thirty-six animals placed around the barnyard. When players click on an animal they will be directed to its corresponding animal slide or one of the thirty-six multiple-choice questions.

If the correct answer is given, players are automatically directed to the “Click to Spin for Treats” slide. If the wrong answer is given, they are directed to the “It’s not Feeding Time” slide. This takes out any guesswork as to whether the answer is correct or incorrect. Players will take turns picking animals and answering questions.

When players are on the “Click to Spin for Treats” slide, they must click on the spinner to activate it and re-click on it to make it stop. Players must now remember the number the spinner stopped on, then click on the “To Treat Board” button on the top left-hand side of the screen. This will take them to the “Take your Treats” slide. Players will click on the number of the square that corresponds to the number the spinner landed on. This action will reveal their animal’s treat reward which will be one, two, or three treats. Players must then click on the treats to recover them. This way all of the treats remain in play for the rest of the game. Now the player/team must click on the “Back to Board” button and manually add the number of treats won in their scoreboard box.

With incorrect answers, play simply passes to the next player or team.

A winner is either determined by who has the most treats when all of the animals have been chosen and moved to the barn and the questions answered or when your preset time limit for the game is up.

Once a winner is determined the player/team gets to click on the “Barn Dance” button on the game board to celebrate!

Note: If players happen to click outside of the “clickable” area of one of the trigger objects it will take them to another screen. Don’t panic! PowerPoint has a watermark-like menu on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Just click on the final circle on the right with the three dots. Then click on “last viewed”. This will return you to the place in the game where you left off.
