Students learn to make and use stencils with pastels as they create a series of their own unique designs. A very simple project for beginners but with vast possibilities for more experienced students. Provides for exploration of a number of concepts;
Symmetry, positive and negative space, creative problem solving, color mixing and blending, color schemes, Translucency vs transparency and opacity, Minimalism, representative vs non-objective, flipping, rotation, and mirroring...to name a few.
This project can be easily directed to meet various holiday themes. Valentine hearts, pumpkin faces, fall leaves, snowflakes, etc...
