PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The technology to remove cataracts was discovered and developed by Patricia Bath! This is a close read biography especially prepared for February studies of famous African-Americans although this story could be told anytime. It is especially useful for use as test-prep. The estimated lexile level is 700-799.

I actually used this in my intermediate ESL classes for my higher readers as test prep. We numbered the paragraphs, used the vocabulary anchor chart, and used the text dependent questions for that purpose.

I chose to do Patricia Bath because I researched her story and I feel that she is an amazing visionary (the pun was intended) ! I emailed her to ask for permission to use some photographs and she graciously gave me permission to use two photos.
