In this activity, students try to determine how Patrick Henry is related to the American Revolution (aligned with Virginia Studies SOL VS.5c). Students will work in pairs or small groups to pull clues from a bag, read the information, and form hypotheses about the mystery person. After a class discussion, students can read a short passage explaining Patrick Henry's contributions to the American Revolution.
This collaborative activity allows students to practice various skills and strategies including predicting, inferring, drawing conclusions, and synthesizing information.
